Hi Everyone, Bill and Lilian have once again come through for us and added a Group Buy section, so let's show our support and get some Pen kits/supplies organized possibly through some well know companies we'd like to patronize, William WoodWrite, Craft Supplies, Arizona Silhouette etc.........I'm hoping we can get something organized by someone with prior group buy experience and I will be contacting Bill to hopefully set up an exclusive Canadian buy through William WoodWrite, john.:)

lockyer18, Although I am new to this group, I am not new to penturning groups having been a long time member of penturners.org. As well as the originator of group buys. So this is straight from the horses mouth.
group buys can be organized in several ways, depending on what works best for the item being ordered. but they all have common goals.
1. to use the purchasing power of a group to take advantage of discounts.
2. to generally provide quality products at lower prices.
3. they are all pay up front type situations.
an example would be: a member woudl volunteer to collect orders for pen kits from AS. these orders would be pooled into one large order that would be shipped to the volunteer who in turn woudl repackage the individual orders and mail them to the members. there is actually a savings per kit in doing it this way and group orders have been done that get into the thousands of dollars in volume. there is not profit involved for the person running the group buy, at best they get products from the same company for no shipping costs and the discount everyone else gets. It is a great way to be more involved with a group for those that like that sort of thing. and can save the members money on things they would be buying anyway.
there is a lot of trust involved in this process but it has been done many times over on other groups.
I am currently working on a variation of the group buy in order to be able to get extremely low priced items in extremely large numbers from overseas sources.
Although I realize this process woudl leave many wondering how well it would work. Keep in mind that this process has been proven to work for years on other groups.

The power of the group is the secret, thanks Daniel for setting this up and to DevinWW, you are on a winner.
