Hello all .... well after I finally got the bent spindle replaced on my Lathe I decided to turn some Pens ... I tried following the instructions on how to post pictures but to no avail I keep getting an error when trying to upload ... the pictures are only 60 kb so I don't see that being the problem ... I have created a Folder BrianB but just won't allow uploads ????
Is there special permission needed for uploading ? ... or do I need to make a certain amount of posts before being allowed to post pics?
Thank you for any help I can recieve to help me in this manner

BrianHi Brian; Just testing to see what size of pics. This one shows up as 14.6 kb, so I think your pics are too large. Resize and try again!

Brian,
Are you using a macintosh computer? I can not upload any pictures since I switched to a Mac. I have discovered that uploading pics to photobucket I can copy them to here. An extra step but it does work.

Hi Mack I thought we were allowed up to 2 MB Pics in size .... I'll try to reduce the size even more and see how that works.
Hi Mike I'm using a PC ... but I may have to load them somewhere else if all else fails.
Thanx for the info
Brian
No that didn't work ... Pictures reduced to 19 kb and the message I get is
"An error occurred while attempting to create a folder for your files. If the problem persists, please notify the webmaster"

Your file size at 6.0 MB is too big.
You are allowed 3.91 MB jpg File size - Max Width 620 X Max Hieght 640
My PC JPG file size for this photo is 2.11 MB - 2816 X 2112
Down loading using Manage Attachments - Posted size is 18.1 KB - 640 X 480

Brian,

We have a Mac and it works fine for us. Seems to work about the same as the PC did.
Click Manage Attachments
Click Choose File and select the picture
Click Upload and when it is done, choose another or
Click Close This Window
Preview Post will show the thumbnail at the bottom of your text.
If you want the picture to show in the text body Right Click the jpg file name in red in the Attach Files area and Copy
Put the curser in the area of text where you want the picture
Go to the tools area above the Text you are writing and Click the Insert Image (looks like mountains with a stamp in the corner) Right Click and Paste
http://www.penturnersparadise.ca/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=4947&stc=1&d=1270488842
Preview Post and the picture will be in the text area.
If you want to move the picture Cut And Paste the text including the [IMG] at both ends.
I will add that we resize the pictures before posting.

Which method are you trying to do Brian? Do you have your photos on a hosting site and trying to upload from there or directly from your PC? Let us know and maybe it will be easier to clarify where the problem is happening.
Thanks for all your assistance everyone.
Brian is referring to an error with the Gallery, not attachments within thread posts. There looks to be an error with folder permissions - I fixed this a month or so ago, but didn't fix it completely I see. I've sent an email to have it fixed and will update this thread later today when I get a reply.
