Hi there,

I just bought a puzzle pen kit (one of the laser cut kits from Kallenshaan Woods). :D I was reading in a magazine that they suggested painting the tubes black, so any gaps in the pieces would not be noticeable.

Has anyone tried using a black coloured epoxy instead?

I'm curious if that would have a similar effect. As I write this, I'm a little worried that the epoxy might be wiped off as I push the pieces over the tube.

I made one of those for a Sierra (although I got mine from Lazerline) and I didn't know you you should paint the tube. I guess ignorance IS bliss because the tube didn't show through at all.

I just recently finished a sierra one as well (pics to follow soon) and I just painted the tubes black (I read in a magazine)and followed the supplied instructions. What I noticed with the puzzle kit is that you need extreme patience:confused:
But once you find the pattern on placing the pieces to the tube it gets very easy.....well kinda;)
But It woulndt hurt giving it a quick spray with black paint. I think coloured epoxy would be way too messy.
Hope this helps.

i made a puzzle pen and coated my tube with high heat spray paint(because it was all i had). Worked for me.
