I didn't see ut one brush posted on here so I thought I'd get some opinions about this one. I turned ir this morning and haven't put a finish on it. Brushes are a rather personal choice and confort in the hand seems to high on the list.

The handle on this is 2 1/2 inches ... about the same as the knot. What's the opinion of the shape? The wood is granadillo and it's not real figured, but there are some patterns.

Whatsyathink?

looks good ,if you get that finish on the wood as turned should look brilliant when finished.probably have to consider if its decorative or a tool in use, because its typically used in a damp or wet conditions ,may need a poly or CA finish for protection ,more so than most articles you would make.

Here's the brush and bowl I use. The brush is a huge 28mm, a real soap eater, but using it is just pure luxury. You'll probably notice I use CA to secure the bowls together and I'm still a bit messy with that stuff. I have a nice stick and a bowl blank of prima vera.

Nice looking brushes Wes! I like the form on both of them. As for the CA glue to glue the ring on the bowl, you have to use it spareningly so you son't get squeeze out.

I really like the shape. Great looking. If it was mine I would like a satin finish on it as not to take away from the shape. Just my 2 cents.

pure luxury! I've gotten a bit old fashioned about shaving. Since I have been using my brush, shaving is no longer a chore. I was using one of the new 5 blade razors, but I'm tired of paying the price for the blades. I've gone back to using a nice double-edge. I even have the one I used as a teenager, but I doesn't feel good in my hand now. The first few shaves were more of a blood-letting, but I've gotten use to the blade and am quite happy ... but I always keep a styptic pencil handy.

Hi Wes,

Great looking brushes, I've just ordered three of the 28mm brushes from Tony at turchetta, ,so it'll be one for me and the other two, well it's nearly Christmas. I'll post pictures when I'm made them, thanks for the photo's and the idea.
