Anyone know where I can get a dark grey burl wood? I've looked at dyed box elder and dyed maple burl but it may not be grey enough. However, if that's the best I can get then that's what it'll have to be.

I have a potential customer that has requested this wood and titanium metals. It may be a one-off or it could be a large order so I'd like to get it right. So far I've only exchanged emails with him and would like to have a picture of the wood to show him before I get more details.

Barry: You may want to try the black dyed black ash burl that Billian has. I've done two pens in it and it ends up a very nice dark grey.

at wm. woodwrite. here is a pen I used it for the center band, gives a good idea of the colour. There is some yellow or white that does show up. Never done a whole pen in it, I like if for CB and finials.
